The Zohar Project Brightens the Olympics

The recently concluded London Olympics captivated the world this summer, showcasing an impressive array of athletic talent and British pageantry. The London Kabbalah Centre took advantage of the multinational platform the Olympics provided to disseminate the wisdom of Kabbalah to people from a wide range of cultural and economic backgrounds. Beginning in June, the London Zohar Project targeted specific areas of the city in which to install the Light and protection of the Zohar.

The first phase of the Zohar Project’s plans for the Olympics was to cover all of the tube (subway) stations classified as ‘high-traffic’ stations. Pocket-Pinchas Zohars were distributed to 121 stations across London by a band of 40 volunteers split into groups of 3-5. During this phase, reports of a bomb threat at the Tottenham stop surfaced. Says Zohar Project team leader Carolina, “It was a wakeup call for the big responsibility we had ahead of us.”

A week before the Olympics began, the London Centre received 5,000 special edition Pinchas Zohars to be distributed throughout the city. These unique Pinchassim have the British flag printed on the cover – a tribute to a memorable summer, and Summer Games, in London. The Zohar Project team distributed London 2012 Pinchassim to more tube stations, as well as to policemen, security personnel, Olympic volunteers and spectators from England and the entire world. On July 27th, the night of the Olympics’ opening ceremony, Kabbalah Centre volunteers went to the Olympic Park to disseminate Zohars.

“We put so much effort and love into printing this special edition Pinchas that people felt it,” says Carolina, “People DEMANDED their Pinchassim; some saw the book and came and asked for it as if it were their birth right. Some volunteers just stood with the Pinchas and people approached them asking for a copy. It’s beautiful to see how open people – from all nationalities – are to receiving the Zohar.”

During the Olympic Zohar distribution, Kabbalah Centre volunteers found many open doors. A policeman accepted 40 UK Pinchassim to distribute amongst his fellow officers. One volunteer gave a box of 120 special edition Pinchassim to a hotel near the Olympic venues, whose manager agreed to pass them out to guests who were members of the press. The same volunteer managed to get a box of Pinchassim inside the HMS Ocean, a military ship watching over the River Thames. Soldiers guarding military surface-to-air missiles (installed as part of London’s Olympic security plan) received London 2012 Pinchassim as well.

The 2012 London Olympics were successfully staged without a major violent incident. The Games were spirited and entertaining, and provided people from all over the world with the opportunity to mingle with other cultures in a safe environment. Members of the London Kabbalah Centre worked hard to cover the city with the protective Light of the Zohar, coming together even more as a community in the process. As a result of the Zohar Project’s efforts, over five thousand Pinchassim were disseminated, and many will make their way back to different parts of the world as their owners return to their homelands.
